Three new scientific projects in LARICS

LARICS is about to start working on three new exciting projects:

Twinning coordination action for spreading excellence in Aerial Robotics is a Horizon 2020 project from the WIDESPREAD-05-2017 topic. Our partners in this project will be Imperial College London, Universidad de Sevilla-AICIA and Fundación Corporación Tecnológica de Andalucía (CTA)

The main objective of the project (ENergy aware Building Information Modelling (BIM) Cloud Platform in a COst-effective Building REnovation Context) is to increase the share of renovated stock in Europe and worldwide by providing effective and affordable BIM tools that cover the whole renovation life-cycle (from data collection to project execution, and commissioning/delivery). The ENCORE project presents a strong consortium of 10 partners from 7 European countries

A Croatian Science Foundation sponsored the project. The main goal of this five-year-long project is to deal with concepts of compliant robot control, soft robotics, and heterogeneous robotic system and utilize them to help farmers in indoor organic agriculture.

EUROC and MORUS presented on DRONEfest

LARICS participated in DRONEfest 2017, presenting recent results in collaborative projects EUROC and MORUS. Presentation included both a live demo of wind turbine inspection, the work completed under EUROC project, as well as a display of MORUS UAV. Matko Orsag gave a talk entitled “Heterogeneous robotic systems for inspection and interaction with the environment”.

EuRoC demonstration performed

Together with our colleagues from LAMOR and UNIDU, LARICS successfully completed a demonstration of our Blade capture system for autonomous wind turbine inspection. This project has been supported by the EU-FP7-ICT project European Robotics Challenges (EuRoC).

LARICS researchers visited production facilities of Croatian company Cromaris, which is a leading company in the aquaculture sector in Croatia and the Adriatic Sea.
