On March 29, 2018 LARICS researcher Frano Petric successfully defended his doctoral dissertation and received a Doctor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Frano’s thesis was entitled “Robot-assisted Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnostics using Partially Observable Markov Decision Processes”. Frano will continue his research work within the ADORE project until January 2019. Congratulations!
The main results of his work include:
(i) The model of robot-assisted autism spectrum disorder protocol tasks based on partially observable Markov decision processes which enables automated assessment of the inter action,
(ii) Hierarchical partially observable Markov decision process model for control of the robot-assisted autism spectrum disorder diagnostic protocol,
(iii) Experimental evaluation of the robot-assisted autism spectrum disorder diagnostic protocol by conducting trials with children in clinical setting.
