Our LARICS researcher Edin Kočo spent one month in India with Croatian company HRID d.o.o. He was involved in various inspection tasks of reactor pressure vessel (RPV) in Kudankulam nuclear power plant located in the south of India. This collaboration between LARICS and HRID resulted in the development of the software package FIONA, which is used for controlling the reactor inspection system.
The software visualizes the RPV and inspection system in 3D and allows remote control for secure navigation of the inspection system, thereby ensuring a collision free scan trajectory generation. During his visit to India, Edin provided software support for the inspection process in case any unexpected problems arose during the inspection.
