The Faculty Day was our Award Day

This year the celebration of the Faculty Day was especially exciting for our Lab. Several LARICS members have become the recipients of prestigeous Faculty awards. Prof. Stjepan Bogdan, students Anja Babić and Kruno Hrvatinić, and researcher Edin Kočo were awarded for their hard work.
 

Prof. Stjepan Bogdan has become the recepient of the Annual Faculty Award for Science for his extraordinary achievements in research and innovations in the last five years, and especially for his contributions to the development of methods for analysis and synthesis of algorithms for control of autonomous and robotic systems.

LARICS students Anja Babić and Kruno Hrvatinić received the Werner von Siemens Award for their excellent student work entitled “Use of intelligent objects grasping with humanoid robot NAO in tasks for diagnosis of autism”. In their work, Anja and Kruno focused their attention on smart grasping with emphasis on derivation of manipulation plan and involvement of direct and inverse kinematics using NAO built-in solvers.

LARICS young researcher Edin Kočo received two awards. The first was the bronze plaque „Josip Lončar“ –the overall best student award of the Faculty Senate of The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing for the years 2011-2013. The second one was the Annual Award presented by AGROKOR d.d., Zagreb for the best design solution or conceptual design of a product or service that might be of interest to a wide circle of end-users in electronic business. The title of Edin’s work was „The system for supervision, protection and control of agriculture plants“.
