On November 27, 2012 two LARICS PhD students, Matko Orsag and Marko Filipović (both mentored by Prof. Stjepan Bogdan) successfully passed their doctoral qualification exams, thus making the first step towards the formal definition of the topics of their dissertations. Matko's presentation was entitled “Unmanned aerial vehicles in contact with environment”, while Marko's was “Fault recovery in manufacturing systems using Petri nets”.
