Three LARICS students successfully defended diploma theses and became diploma engineers. Goran's thesis was entitled “Program Tool for Operation with Petri nets and Matrix Models” and the main result is Petri.NET Simulator which is turned into a commercial product (shareware SW) and already used by our students in the Flexible Manufacturing Systems course (see Figure).

Jurica's thesis was “Vision System for Face Catching and Tracking of a Human in Motion” and the result is the program application FaceCatcher that finds and follows the humans face by controlling a pan-tilt-zoom camera. Kristijan's thesis was “Building a Double Pendulum Laboratory Servo System” which resulted in the first version of a double pendulum servo system driven by a Parker BLDC servo motor drive. Once it is finished, we plan to include this laboratory setup as a part of the ViREMCO Lab.
